Dalston is a district in the Borough of Hackney in East London. It is a lively neighbourhood with an ethnically varied population. Dalston has always been an area that attracts new arrived immigrants: Jewish, Caribbean, Turkish, Vietnamese, Polish.

This wide variety of cultural and economic backgrounds of people living in Dalston inspired us to document a moment in time of this rapidly changing area.

All illustrations are based on photographs taken on location over a period of time. The photographs are then hand traced to create high quality outlines.
